Christmas in Fernley
Updated: Dec 28, 2018
In this episode, Dana Uhlhorn joins Peter in the studio. Dana is not only the president of the Fernly Chamber of Commerce, but also a realtor with First Option Realty.
Dana describes Fernley as a small, close-knit, friendly town. The hospitality extends to the Chamber of Commerce, which holds weekly "Ambassadors Breakfast" every Tuesday. The purpose being another way to bring together business owners.
One of the recent activities going on in Fernley currently is a Christmas Village, being headed by Dana, and built by the Fernley Builders Association and a few other groups. Dana was inspired to start this holiday project from a trip he went on last year. He went through a number of small towns and saw how each one put up decorations for the holidays. He wanted to bring that festiveness home with him.
The two benefits of Fernley for Peter however, are the houses and the ice cream. House pricing in Fernley has a noticeable reduction in price from Reno and Sparks. And as Dana and Peter agree, nothing beats Steve's Ice-Cream.
